Product Information How is it different? The Crossfire 3 is completely designed in 3D, using the same advanced CAD and CFD technology pioneered with Petra and Leia. She has a new planform shape, new rib shape, new crossport design, Powerband split leading edge, new end-cell, new stabilizer shape, and a new trim. How is it better? Every detail is fine tuned to eliminate drag and create a more efficient wing. You get the same soft, on-heading, reliable openings the Crossfire 2 is known for, but now you also have more range, more responsive inputs, a more aggressive dive, and the longer recovery arc everyone has been asking for. Who is it for? The Crossfire 3 will replace the Crossfire 2. At light wingloadings of 1.0-1.4 she is suitable for confident intermediate jumpers moving up from the Safire onto elliptical 9-cells. At higher wingloadings of 1.5 and above she's an all new machine for pilots already flying small/highly loaded Crossfire2's or other elliptical 9-cells. She's a step up in performance. She whips around, dives hard, recovers slow and eats up the ground in a swoop. She is perfect for advanced pilots who want a hassle-free non-crossbraced canopy. Is there two versions of it? We are working on another canopy code-named Crossfire X. But this will be a completely separate wing. It's not ready yet. We hope for it to be available late next year. The Crossfire X will bridge the gap from elliptical 9-cells to crossbraced canopies, It will be as high performance and as powerful as we can possibly make it without crossbracing. It will have a longer recovery arc again, so that there is a steady progression from the Safire 3 with a short recovery arc, to the Crossfire 3 with a medium recovery arc, to the Crossfire X with a long recovery arc - then onto crossbraced canopies.
